Home acne cream practical guide. Dr. Sun recommends having 3 types of creams at hand to solve most acne problems.
1. Metronidazole gel: use twice a day to reduce inflammation and speed up the healing of red pimples and pustules. Combine with Azelaic acid gel to minimize acne scars.
2. Retinoic acid ointment: apply thin layer at night to unclog pores and reduce blackheads and closed comedones on the nose, forehead, and cheeks. For example, Adapalene gel, a derivative of vitamin A, should be used at night and avoid sunlight.
